Author's note

04b30, designed by Yuji Oshimoto, is a free pixel display font built from dense, squared forms. Its oversized letters have stepped edges, tight joins, and small rectangular cuts that resemble glitches in an arcade screen. The shapes are blunt and compact.

Digital graphics make the most of this hard-edged construction, especially game menus, streaming artwork, and electronic music posters. It can also shape merchandise and event branding aimed at retro-gaming audiences, where the broken pixel details connect directly with low-resolution console imagery and the visual culture of early home computers.
