Author's note

1543 Humane Jenson Bold, by Gilles Le Corre, is a free Renaissance eroded display font. The letters feel lifted from an early press sheet, with blunted slab-like tops, uneven bitten edges, and a dark inked texture that gives the whole design a worn, human touch.

It suits book jackets, exhibition graphics, historical posters, title cards, and packaging that wants a learned but handmade voice. Used as a free font for short headlines, initials, or monogram-like marks, it carries a convincing sixteenth-century print mood because the rough contours look pressed rather than merely distressed.
