16th Arabesques by Gilles Le Corre is a free Renaissance arabesque initials font built from curling foliage, carved-looking scrolls, and richly framed letters. The ornament repeats in thick, dark ribbons and vine-like flourishes, giving the caps an old book, woodcut feel rather than a plain Gothic severity.

It works naturally in posters, chapter openings, book covers, certificates, wine labels, and title cards where a single letter or short line can carry that historical mood. As a free font, it makes the most sense for drop caps, monograms, and short headings, because the dense ornament and square framing turn the letters into little emblems.
