Author's note

3x3 Italic, designed by Marc Beekhuis, is a free pixel display font built from massive slanted blocks and sharply stepped cuts. Its forward-driving silhouette feels blunt and mechanical.

Blocky game illustrations and angular interface graphics echo its construction, making it useful for retro arcade posters, electronic music covers, motorsport merchandise, and energy drink packaging. The same hard-edged sense of speed connects those settings, where the lettering can become a racing stripe, interface fragment, or angular emblem instead of neutral text.
