Author's note

4 by 4, created by fontman of FontShop International GmbH, is a free pixel display font built from rigid square modules. Broad strokes and abrupt right angles give the letters a maze-like silhouette.

The font can turn a game title or event poster into an electronic sign, with its stepped forms suggesting old arcade screens, scoreboards, and low-resolution computer graphics. It also suits technology branding and music merchandise, where the letters can merge with grids, circuit patterns, and simple geometric icons as part of the artwork rather than serving as ordinary captions.
