Author's note

914 Solid by E. V. Norat II is a free futuristic display font with a sleek, machine-cut rhythm. The letters lean on broad horizontal bands, squared curves, and deep cut-ins that make the set feel part digital scoreboard, part custom sci-fi logotype.

It fits posters, game branding, tech event graphics, title cards, packaging, and short interface-style headlines where that compact, engineered voice helps carry the layout. As a free font, it also makes sense for cover lines, monograms, and other brief marks that benefit from its rounded corners and tightly controlled geometry.

The typefaces are rounded-corner box shapes, Sans Serif, Gothic, extended/expanded, and Euro style.

They are similar, but not an exact duplicate, of the characters that were once used in reference to the now-discontinued 914 automotive/sports vehicle that was manufactured between 1969-1975.

Those characters were used on various emblems, signage, placards, brochures, literature, promotional items, racing applications and other applications.

The original font was only made in a dozen or so upper case letters and numbers. Therefore all characters in this conversion are interpretations/interpolations—essentially a “best guess” or “what it should be” reconstruction.

This font conversion/interpretation has been cleaned up and now has a font ratio of 1:5:11 (line width : height : width).

This font is a rounded corner box shape, Sans Serif, Gothic, extended / expanded and Euro style type of font. It is similiar, but not an exact duplicate, of the characters that were once used, in reference to the now discontinued 914 automovtive/sports vehicle that was manufactured between 1969-1975. This font conversion/interpretation has been "cleaned up" and now has a font ratio of 1:5:11 ( Line width : height : width ).
