Author's note

A Safe Place to Fall, by Kimberly Geswein, is a free handwritten font with the loose scale and uneven pacing of quickly drawn lettering. Tall, narrow forms mingle with smaller rounded letters, and the stroke weight shifts noticeably across the alphabet. Several characters lean or rise independently, giving a line of text an improvised silhouette.

The casual drawing can suit personal stationery and scrapbook captions as readily as indie music posters or cafe packaging. It is especially convincing when a project needs lettering that resembles an informal hand-made note.
