Author's note

Aboriginal Serif Bold Italic, by Chris Harvey, is a free italic serif font with a hefty, old-style newspaper flavor. The letters lean hard and move fast, mixing broad wedge-like serifs with rounded, swelling forms that make the font feel brisk, assertive, and a little literary.

It fits editorial headlines, book jackets, poster titles, packaging, and cafe branding where you want that slanted serif voice to feel warm rather than stiff. As a free font, it also works well for pull quotes, menu headers, and short cover lines, because the strong angle and weight give even a few words a clear sense of motion.
