Author's note

Aboriginal Serif Bold, by Chris Harvey, is a free serif font with a sturdy, old-style newspaper feel. The letters pair broad, weighty forms with sharply cut serifs, while the rounded lowercase keeps the texture warm rather than severe, so the font feels grounded and a little literary.

It works well for book covers, editorial headings, poster titles, pub menus, and packaging where you want a traditional voice with some heft. As a free font, it also makes sense for short pull quotes, mastheads, and title cards, since those compact, dark shapes hold together nicely in a few words.
