Author's note

Aboriginal Serif Italic, by Chris Harvey, is a free italic serif font with a calligraphic, old-style manner. The letters lean with a smooth, pen-led rhythm, pairing sharp wedge-like details with rounded, generous curves so the whole font feels literary rather than formal.

It suits book jackets, magazine cover lines, cultural posters, boutique branding, and restaurant menus where a little movement helps the title carry. As a free font, it also makes sense for quotes, pull lines, and short title cards, because the slanted serif shapes give even a few words a composed, handwritten air.
