Author's note

Absinthe FT Italic by Franck Trebillac is a free decorative display font with extremely tall, narrow letters and pronounced forward movement. Fine strokes curl into hooked details beneath the letters.

Its fin-de-siecle poster character makes it especially apt for absinthe labels and theatrical event posters, where the long, curling forms can echo ornamental borders. Fashion branding, perfume packaging, and music promotions also suit its lean silhouette, sharp stroke contrast, and slightly uncanny elegance. In publishing, it is best cast as a dramatic cover line or section opener, turning the lettering into part of the page's ornament.
