Author's note

AbstractFragments by Manfred Klein is a free human-machine dingbat font built from stark silhouettes of women, robotic bodies, and industrial components. Wheels, panels, pipes, and jointed limbs turn the figures into unsettling pieces of retro-futurist collage.

It can give electronic music posters a confrontational edge, yet the same cutout forms suit experimental fashion graphics because every symbol reads as a fully imagined cybernetic figure. Game interfaces, science-fiction merchandise, and alternative magazine covers offer further settings for these human-machine hybrids, which can act as characters, icons, or emblems rather than ordinary lettering.
