Author's note

Abyssinica SIL, from SIL International, is a free literary serif with a calm, bookish voice. The letters mix crisp contrast with soft, slightly old-style shaping, and the long, curved descender on the y gives the font a gentle human rhythm instead of a stiff academic feel.

It suits editorial pages, cultural programs, book covers, essay titles, and museum or archive branding where a free font needs gravity without feeling severe. It also works well for pull quotes and short headings, since those refined serifs and rounded curves keep the tone formal but still warm.
