Author's note

Acoustic Bass font by Design 76 Type is a free distorted typewriter display typeface with a wonderfully bruised, inky personality. Each letter in the Acoustic family looks like it’s been hammered onto raw paper by a misaligned vintage machine-edges wobble, ink pools in dark spots, and the rhythm feels loose and human. The result is tactile and noisy, like a lo‑fi demo recorded in a basement rather than a polished studio track.

Using Acoustic Bass, you get that scruffy, analog texture that’s hard to fake in digital work. This free font shines on gig posters, grunge or indie band artwork, DIY zines, thriller book covers, underground event flyers, and noisy social graphics. Set it large to show off the blotchy texture, and pair it with a clean geometric sans for small text to let Acoustic Bass do the expressive heavy lifting.
