Author's note

akaDora, designed by James Milligan for akaType, is a free calligraphic brush script with a lively, handwritten sweep. Broad downstrokes and fine connecting lines create pronounced contrast across the letters. The tall loops are especially distinctive.

Wedding invitations make a convincing home for this graceful, personal lettering, with fashion branding and beauty packaging close behind. Its oversized flourishes can become part of a logo or decorative border, echoing ribbons and hand-drawn ornament rather than behaving like neutral text. The romantic calligraphy also suits boutique stationery and event graphics built around floral or celebratory themes.
