Author's note

Almendra by Ana Sanfelippo is a free expressive serif font with tall, narrow forms and a distinctly literary air. Its strokes shift sharply between broad and fine, ending in flared, blade-like serifs. Curves stay lively and slightly uneven.

Book covers are its clearest fit, especially for folklore, historical fiction, or poetry. The same old-world shapes suit cultural posters, festival programs, and specialty food packaging with an artisanal theme. It is most convincing when the lettering needs to suggest a storybook or manuscript tradition.
