Author's note

Alpha by Juan-Jose Marcos is a free Roman inscription serif, and the letters lean on classical proportions with sharp wedge-like endings and a calm, monumental rhythm. Its contrast is graceful rather than showy, giving the caps the kind of carved, literary character that feels rooted in stone, title pages, and old scholarly printing.

That makes it a natural free font for book covers, museum graphics, cultural posters, historical branding, and title cards where a few words need gravity without turning ornate. It also suits monograms and short editorial headings, because the broad curves and tapered serifs give even simple initials a ceremonial tone.
