Author's note

Alquimia by Jose Ramon Sahagun Ortiz is a free decorative display font that sets dramatic, high-contrast serif letters against a network of fine lines, circles, and tiny dots. The ornament shifts between letters, giving the alphabet the look of diagrams assembled from astronomical instruments, chemical apparatus, and circuit paths.

Its most convincing role is in exhibition posters for science, alchemy, or speculative technology, where the lettering can become part of the subject matter. It also suits experimental music packaging and museum event graphics. In editorial design, its diagram-like marks could shape feature openers or magazine cover lines about invention, occult history, or the meeting of art and science.
