Author's note

Amaranth Bold Italic by Gesine Todt is a free contemporary serif font with broad, assertive forms and a lively forward lean. Its changing stroke widths give the lettering a loose, drawn quality rather than a rigid typographic finish. Rounded curves meet sharply cut angles, and several letters have jaunty, unconventional joins.

It is especially well suited to posters, where its dense silhouette and restless movement can turn a title into the main graphic. The same weight and informality suit music packaging, festival branding, and editorial covers.
