Author's note

AnglicanText by Typographer Mediengestaltung is a free medieval blackletter font with a formal, calligraphic silhouette. Its steep pointed strokes and diamond-shaped joins give the letters the firm texture of handwritten manuscript lettering with emphatic vertical movement. The flourishes are broad and unmistakably ornamental.

A theatrical title is its most convincing role, especially for fantasy events, historical games, and music packaging built around dark medieval imagery. The ornate letterforms can also become illustrated emblems for book covers and brewery branding, with their curling strokes echoing vines, heraldic scrollwork, or engraved decoration.
