Author's note

APHont Bold Italic from American Printing House for the Blind is a free bold italic sans serif with sturdy, plainly drawn letterforms and a pronounced forward slant. Its open shapes remain simple and firmly drawn.

Accessible signage and energetic sports graphics are very different settings, but both benefit from its strong silhouette and forward movement. It also suits educational publishing and public information materials, where broad strokes support an approachable visual tone. In illustrated guides, the angled letters can echo directional arrows or figures in motion, tying captions to the surrounding imagery.
