Author's note

APHont Italic, created by the American Printing House for the Blind, is a free italic sans serif with a brisk forward lean and open, generous forms. Its strokes are clean and lightly modulated.

The broad curves and direct shapes make a natural companion to instructional icons and diagrams, particularly in accessible publishing, museum graphics, and public information. In signage and educational materials, the slanted lettering can become part of a directional graphic rather than serving as neutral text alone.
