APHont by American Printing House for the Blind is a free low-contrast sans serif with plain strokes, broad rounded curves, and generous proportions that make the lettering look calm and purposeful. The letter shapes are direct, smooth, and quietly neutral.

As a calm informational voice, it suits public signage and educational publishing, where the unfussy construction supports a serious but approachable message across a related set of materials.
