Apona Lohit is a free Bangla font adapted by the contributors of ekushey.org from Lohit Bengali by Automatic Control Equipments, Pune. The letters carry a straightforward Bengali text feel, with a firm headline, rounded turns, and compact shapes that keep the script calm and workmanlike rather than ornamental.
It fits naturally in Bengali interface labels, community newsletters, educational material, website headings, and poster copy where a plain local voice is needed. As a free font, it also makes sense for title lines, short callouts, and section headers, because the steady rhythm and familiar script texture give brief phrases a grounded, everyday presence.
