Author's note

Arcade font by Yuji Adachi is a free pixel bitmap typeface that drops you straight into an 8-bit screen. Each letter is built from chunky, square blocks with tight spacing, giving words a solid, monolithic feel-like they’ve been stamped onto an old CRT. The rhythm is boxy and consistent, so even at tiny sizes the text stays sharp instead of turning to mush.

Using Arcade, your work instantly reads as retro game culture: it shines on arcade flyers, pixel art posters, UI overlays, stream graphics, zines, and chiptune album covers. This free font works beautifully for bold titles and short phrases; keep it big and all-caps for maximum impact. For body text or captions, pair Arcade with a clean neo-grotesque sans to balance its heavy, blocky texture.
