Author's note

Arctic font by Daryl L. Houston is a free retro display typeface with a wonderfully oddball twist. The huge dome-like “A” feels like a stylized igloo or vintage marquee frame, while the rest of the letters stay slim, rounded, and quietly futuristic. The clean, even strokes and generous spacing give it a cool, weightless feel, as if the word were resting on ice.

Using Arctic, you get a logo-ready wordmark in a single keystroke, especially when you lead with that iconic first letter. This free font shines on sci‑fi posters, minimalist album covers, fashion branding, packaging, editorial titles, and bold website headers. Pair Arctic with a simple geometric sans in smaller text and let Arctic handle the loud, oversized moments.
