Author's note

Aver Italic by Lauren Thompson is a free high-contrast serif font with an elegant, strongly slanted profile. Broad curved strokes meet fine hairlines and sharply tapered serifs, producing lively shapes that feel refined but not overly delicate.

The lettering can create a graceful editorial voice for magazine covers, fashion branding, and literary publishing, where its sweeping forms suit sophisticated photography and illustration. Boutique hotels, fragrance labels, and formal event materials are also a natural market for its polished proportions and pronounced italic movement.

Completed and released in May of 2012, Aver began very humbly as the first traditional or old-style serif typeface design by Lauren Thompson in June of 2009. Three years brewing and proven to be true, Aver asserts emphatically and solemnly.
