Author's note

Averia Bold by Dan Sayers of iotic.com is a free Celtic Gothic display font with broad, softly irregular forms. Its swelling strokes and tapered joins recall hand-cut lettering rather than formal blackletter. The uneven curves give each letter a lively silhouette.

For folk music posters and pub branding, that sturdy, old-world shape feels warm and informal, and it also suits festival merchandise and storybook covers. The letters can become part of an illustrated crest or tavern sign, with their rounded peaks and notched details supplying the same crafted texture as the surrounding artwork.
