Avril Lavigne is a free eroded military display font with the rough, cut-out feel of stenciled lettering worn by weather and use. The letters look tall, narrow, and uneven at the edges, with chipped gaps and blunt shapes that give the whole font a raw punk-meets-barracks attitude.
That makes it a natural fit for poster headlines, band flyers, skate zines, mixtape covers, streetwear graphics, and gritty title cards. As a free font, it works best where a few words need that battered stencil voice, because the distressed texture does most of the talking.
