Ayar Typewriter, created by Ayar Unicode Group, is a free Unicode typewriter font with an old-school serif build. Its broad letters have blunt slab serifs and softened corners. Varied stroke widths give the forms a lively printed texture.
It suits literary publishing and period posters, yet its sturdy shapes also fit cafe packaging and music merchandise. The typewriter reference lends an archival note without looking severely distressed. For brands, it can turn a product name into a vintage label.
