Author's note

Ballast by Nazlfrag Pope is a free geometric dingbat font built from dense, compact modular forms with a distinctly low-resolution digital edge. Rows of square units give the symbols stepped outlines, broad solid areas, and abrupt cut-ins, so the collection resembles components from an early home computer console or physical electronic control panel.

Arcade game interfaces are its clearest setting, since the block-built marks can function as buttons, status graphics, or mechanical icons rather than conventional lettering, with the same hard-edged construction fitting electronic music packaging and technology event posters. In digital graphics, each mark can become a circuit-like emblem.
