Author's note
Barque by Matthias De Vylder is a free Chinese-inspired display font with broad, dark letterforms and sharp ornamental cuts. Its flared strokes and rooflike horizontal bars give the alphabet a carved signboard quality. Narrow gaps break up the dense shapes.
Restaurant brands and specialty food packaging can use its decorative structure to suggest a stylized East Asian setting. It also suits festival posters and themed entertainment graphics, where the lettering can become part of a storefront-style identity.
