Author's note

Barras Bravas by Rodrigo Araya Salas is a free handwritten display font with the wiry, restless build of quickly drawn lettering. Its very tall letters swing between bowed curves and hard angles, with uneven strokes and abrupt hooks making each form look independently improvised, some pinching inward as others flare into broad open wedges.

Independent music labels and streetwear brands will find a natural match in its raw fan-made character, especially for gig posters and club flyers. It also suits supporters' banners and football merchandise, where the narrow silhouettes and unruly line changes echo lettering painted by hand for the terraces.

BARRAS-BRAVAS is based on the writing style of Chilean barras bravas, which can be found throughout Chile, including in public bathrooms, on buses, and in schools.
