Author's note

Bellatrix by Lauren Harrison is a free distorted display font with tall, wavering capitals and sharply tapered strokes. The uneven contours give the lettering a cut-paper roughness. Its narrow forms feel tense and slightly theatrical.

Dark folklore and offbeat period drama provide a fitting context for book covers, stage posters, and title cards, where the crooked silhouettes can suggest unease without relying on heavy ornament. Independent fashion labels and music merchandise can draw on the same spindly construction for identities that feel raw, eccentric, and deliberately imperfect.
