Author's note

Bellota Bold by Kemie Guaida is a free retro display font based on Gesine Todt's Snippet. Its tall, open letters mix rounded arches with sharply clipped joins, and the changing stroke widths keep the forms lively. Curled feet and hooked endings create an unmistakably offbeat silhouette.

Playful retro themes make it especially apt for festival posters and music packaging. The broad curves and eccentric details can also lend children's publishing and cafe signage a cheerful, handmade edge. For brand identities, the hooked stroke endings can recur as a simple motif across product labels and merchandise.
