Author's note
Ben by Ben Kroencke is a free trash-style script font with bulky, uneven letters, abrupt changes between dense and open forms, and a deliberately unruly finish. Its wobbling contours make every letter look hastily patched by hand.
Posters are its strongest setting, especially for punk nights, underground music releases, and offbeat comedy events that benefit from rough, homemade lettering. On merchandise and record packaging, the abrupt shifts between dense strokes and scratchy open forms can merge with torn-paper collage, photocopied portraits, or deliberately crude cartoon artwork instead of behaving like neutral type.
