BestBefore by Kaeru Gaman of FontStruct is a free dot-matrix bitmap font built from small horizontal dashes. The broken strokes give each letter an electronic, scanned texture without losing its basic shape. The forms are slim and mostly geometric.
Digital graphics suit it best, especially game menus and retro computer interfaces. The segmented texture also fits electronic music posters and technology packaging. In themed artwork, the words can become a status display rather than ordinary text.
