Bete Noir by Nick Curtis is a free Art Deco display font with a sharp poster-era attitude. The letters are built from broad geometric shapes, then bitten through with rows of triangular cuts and boxed-in strokes that give the whole design a noir-marquee tension instead of smooth Deco polish.
It works well for vintage nightclub branding, cocktail menus, mystery cover lines, title cards, and monograms where those jagged inner bites can do the talking. As a free font, it makes most sense in short display settings, especially logos and headings that want 1930s glamour pushed a little darker and stranger.
