BJF Mermaid by Judy of Blue Jay Font Studio is a free illustrated Western display font built around ornate slab-serif capitals and recurring mermaid scenes. Each letter joins a curving sea figure, flowing hair, and strands of underwater plants with dark, outlined frontier-style forms.
The nautical drawings make the lettering part of the artwork itself. It suits posters and seaside event graphics, with enough pictorial detail for fantasy merchandise and children's publishing. These uses share a need for lettering that doubles as an underwater vignette rather than plain type.
