Black Letter Font

Black Letter, designed by Chris Dunfield of GraphicCompulsion, is a free medieval blackletter font with an imposing calligraphic silhouette. Broad, rounded strokes meet needle-sharp joins, deeply cut interior spaces, and abrupt changes in width. Long curved flourishes extend the ceremonial silhouette and lend the lettering a slightly theatrical edge.

Gothic fashion and metal audiences are the clearest fit. On album covers, apparel, event posters, and fantasy game graphics, its pointed forms can echo heraldic creatures, engraved borders, and ornamental illustration.
