Author's note

Black Lightning is a free trash-script display font with a restless, scrawled line. Its tall, uneven letters swing between narrow loops and broad curves, with crossings that look rapidly redrawn rather than carefully polished. The loose construction feels deliberately unruly.

It is strongest on punk gig posters, where the scratched overlaps can echo hurried marker lettering and photocopied artwork. Album covers, skate merchandise, and underground event graphics also suit its rough motion, since the tangled loops can become part of the illustration instead of serving as neutral text.
