Author's note

Brave by Ernesto Urias is a free hand-drawn brush display font with raw, forceful letterforms and the urgency of a quickly painted sign. Its uppercase forms are built from quick, uneven strokes, sharp joins, and changing widths, with overlaps and blunt endings that retain the direct marks of a broad brush.

Action and youth culture are natural territory for posters and merchandise. The slashing strokes also suit music packaging, local event flyers, and sports branding, where the letters can function almost like painted symbols, echoing hand-rendered illustrations, aggressive mascots, or the spontaneous markings found on skate decks and venue walls.
