Author's note

British Museum 1490 by CloutierFontes is a free Gothic initials font filled with curling foliage, grotesque faces, and small animal forms. Its tall capitals combine sharp blackletter strokes with dense carved-looking ornament.

A historical book cover is its most convincing setting, especially for publishing that treats a single capital as a decorative centerpiece. The same museum-like detail also suits exhibition posters, heritage event graphics, and theatrical packaging, where the creatures and leafy scrolls can echo engraved borders or period-inspired artwork.
