Author's note

Burris Ghost Town font by J.F.Y.Daniel Gauthier of GautFonts is a free decorative Western display typeface with a dusty, timeworn twist. Chunky slab letterforms feel like old saloon signage, while the speckled, corroded texture makes each word look weather-beaten and sun-cracked, as if it’s been nailed to a fence post for decades. There’s a rough, tactile quality here-almost like flaky paint and splintered wood-that instantly sets a moody, ghost-town atmosphere.

Using Burris Ghost Town, you can bring gritty character to horror posters, Western movie titles, haunted house flyers, escape room branding, game interfaces, or themed event graphics. This free font works best large, where its gritty details can really breathe; pair it with a clean, simple sans serif for body copy to keep layouts readable while the headline does the storytelling.
