Author's note

Cage by johnw of bionictype is a free hand-drawn display font built from broad, uneven strokes, rounded corners, and loose shapes that seem drawn in one quick pass. The edges wobble, and the joins often look improvised.

Posters are its most convincing setting, particularly for underground music, student events, and independent theater, where the rough lettering can echo handmade signs and screen-printed artwork. The same construction also suits record covers, food packaging, and casual merchandise, though its large crooked forms have their strongest role in poster titles with an unruly DIY attitude.
