Author's note

Canon is a free comic display font with a theatrical, old-print flavor. The letters pair chunky vertical weight with sharp, beak-like cuts and pinched joins, so the whole font feels playful but slightly grand, like a headline borrowed from a storybook masthead.

It fits poster titles, book covers, packaging, logo sketches, and event graphics where a free font can bring in a touch of period drama without going full blackletter. Because the shapes are so assertive and the rhythm is uneven in a lively way, Canon also works well for short headlines, title cards, and initials that need a little stage presence.
