Author's note

Cardo Bold by David J. Perry is a free classical serif font with broad capitals and a firm, bookish weight. Strong thick-thin contrast, sharply cut serifs, and gently flared details give the lettering an inscriptional formality that still feels approachable.

Museums and literary publishers could use it for exhibition graphics, book covers, and journal headings. Its stately proportions also suit university branding and historical event programs, especially when the design requires authority rather than ornament. The Roman-influenced shapes connect these applications to classical literature, scholarship, and cultural history.
