Author's note
CBE Italic by Peter Wiegel is a free angular brush script with dramatic changes in stroke width. Its sharp, broken-looking joins and long pointed strokes give the lettering a quick, improvised edge.
Illustration-led posters can echo those blade-like forms in abstract figures, fashion sketches, or music artwork. It also suits album covers and event graphics. In packaging, the letters can become part of a jagged hand-drawn motif, linking a product name directly to energetic line art.
