Author's note

Charles S. by Jonathan Paquette of High-Logic.com is a free eroded serif display font with the sturdy shape of old wood type. Its broad letters combine firm slab-like details with scratches, chips, and uneven patches that make the printing seem weathered rather than digitally distressed.

It can turn a poster title or package label into a worn shop sign. That rough surface also suits roots music merchandise and historical event graphics, because it recalls ink breaking across aged paper. In editorial design, the missing flecks can echo torn photographs and photocopied textures, tying the lettering directly to the imagery.
