Author's note

Chenier by Steve Cloutier of PYRS Fontlab is a free old-school eroded display font whose broad, dark letterforms combine blunt slab serifs, uneven contours, and the battered texture of old frontier printing. Scraped interiors resemble letters pulled from a worn printing block.

The Western poster influence makes it especially convincing for saloon branding and whiskey packaging, then extends easily to roots-music festival posters and historical game graphics that benefit from lettering with a rough period reference. Its chipped shapes can become part of a frontier emblem or stamped-sign motif, making the type central to a product's identity rather than ordinary packaging text.
